Rockin' NYE Style Lookbook

Blogger, StyleOlivia NicoleComment

Where did 2016 go? It came and went just like that! Tomorrow is New Years Eve and I can't even begin to believe that 2017 is upon us already. I will say that the year 2016 takes the cake for the best year of my life! I became a mother, which is the greatest accomplishment that I will ever have. Not only did I become a mama to a handsome little devil, but I also did it with my best friend and partner in life. I must say, parenthood looks pretty damn good on us! With my family's support, I also have a personal passion project in the works that will be releasing in 2017, which is very exciting! Bring it on 2017! I'm ready for ya!

Style is what you make of it. If you're confident in your style choices, then you can ROCK anything! My style is my true self. What I choose to put on every morning is a reflection of who I am. For 2017, my style resolution is to stay true to myself, no matter what the "trends" may be. What's your style resolution for the New Year?

For me, I'm usually not the "dress" kind of girl! I love wearing dresses, don't get me wrong, but more times than not, I'd choose a great pair of pants over a dress to go out. I've put together three looks for you that would be sure to SLAY for all of those chill New Year's Eve plans.  You don't have to wear a dress to look chic, FYI!

This look is all about the "punk rock glam". The chic plaid frilled pants, paired with a glam metallic moto jacket takes me back to those 90s "NO DOUBT" days, in the best way possible. Rock this look to a killer party and you'll be sure to turn some heads.

Metallic Leather Jacket
Checked Frilled Trousers
Texture Fabric Top in Black
High Heel Mountain Ankle Boots
The XL Sparkle Choker

This look is for a low-key NYE house party. Rock a vintage band tee with a great pair of denim, paired with a metallic vest to add a little NYE flair. You don't have to be covered in sequins to be NYE ready!

Vintage Marilyn Manson Tee
Printed Cigarette Jeans
High Heel Mountain Ankle Boots
RM Active Metallic Biker Vest
The Dagger Earrings
Chelsey's Chokers

This look is for all of those babes that value comfort, like this mama! These Tom Ford trousers are NYE perfection. Give them an athletic vibe by rockin' your classic adidas kicks and a structured top. Not only will you be comfortable when the ball drops, but you'll look AMAZING while ringin' in the New Year!

Tom Ford - Metallic Via Laveggio Stabio Skinny Pants
adidas Originals Superstar Sneakers

Bleeding Rock N' Roll

Halloween is fast approaching so it's time for all of the ghouls, goblins, skeletons and vampires to come out to play! It's the perfect time to "funk" up your look a bit and become your alter ego. Whether you're just playing dress up, or expressing the true YOU, now is the time to add a little DANGER to your look. I mean, it is almost Halloween after all, right? So pull out all of the black from your closet and lurk around in the shadows casting spells or drinking blood (not really, please). The point is, have fun, get a little weird and sink your teeth into the season.

JUST IN TIME FOR FALL

Blogger, Lookbook, Photography, StyleOlivia NicoleComment

Fall is here and I've never felt more inspired. It's time to pull out all of those layers and mix and match your wardrobe in a fun way! When transitioning into a new season, it's important to find your style staples for that particular season. This way, you can really hone in on a signature look. One of my fall staples is this Jord Wood Watch.

As a new mama, being on time has become quite tricky as of late. Whether I'm having to squeeze in a quick feeding, or needing to change my sons diaper, there's quickly becoming numerous reasons as to why I am "running late". Better "late" than never, right?! Ehh, I'd rather be on time.

Since being on time is very important to me, wearing this Cora Wood Watch by Jord is the perfect fall staple for me! I can not only track my feeding times more easily, but I can also make sure that I am always on time to all of my social events and/or baby play dates.

It's about TIME you choose to wear a Jord Wood Watch! Shop below!

CHECKERED PAST

Blogger, Makeup, Model, Photo Shoot, Photography, Style, StylistOlivia NicoleComment

Styles change, but the past is never forgotten!

As far as fashion goes, trends come and go, but styles are always recycled from our past! Whether it be the revival of PUNK from the 80s and 90s or living and loving a bohemian lifestyle like in the 70s, we all see past trends returning time and time again, but always with a bit of a modern day twist.

My style has evolved so much over the years, and with age, came creativity and individuality. The older I get and the more experiences that I have had, has taught me to continue to push the envelope with my style and to not be afraid to take risks. I tend to do things a little more wacky than I did in let's say my teenage years and early twenties. I have always gained my style inspirations from the past, but have made sure to always make that style fit my personal aesthetic. Whether I play with bohemian styles or Americana styles, I always give that personal rock n' roll touch that has remained part of my "signature look"!

Lesson here, always be conscious of the history of fashion/style, while remembering to integrate your own personal touch with the styles from our past. Let's be real, we can all learn a little something from the past.

"Gimme back my bullets
Put 'em back where they belong
Ain't foolin' around 'cause I done had my fun
Ain't gonna see no more damage done
Gimme back my bullets"
- Lynyrd Skynyrd

Being back in the SOUTH makes me feel like I'm living in a Lynyrd Skynyrd song, "cause' I'm as free as a bird now" with a heart full of joy and a head full of dreams.

Living the dream means having a dream and going after that dream and that's what I plan to do each and every day! 2016 has started out better than any other and I must say, I just can't wait to see what lies ahead!
